Invicta FC returns to pay-per-view for the first time in eight years for next month’s “Invicta FC 44: A New Era.” Promotion officials today announced the event, as well as the broadcast plans. “I’m excited for our athletes to showcase their skills on pay-per-view again,” Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp stated.

Jessica Penne just can’t seem to catch a break. Penne (12-5 MMA, 1-3 UFC) is out of her scheduled UFC on ESPN 3 fight next week against Jodie Esquibel (6-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) for a second time and has been replaced by Angela Hill (8-6 MMA, 3-6 UFC). UFC officials announced the new booking following an initial report from MMA DNA . Penne was supposed to return from a layoff of nearly two years in February against Esquibel at UFC on ESPN 1 in February. But she came in overweight for the women’s strawweight bout, then injured her ankle the morning of the fight and fell off the card the day of the event
