The UFC 165 fight card continues to fill up with the addition of a lightweight bout between John Makdessi and Renee Forte. UFC officials announced the new bout on Tuesday. UFC 165 features Jon Jones putting his UFC light heavyweight championship on the line against Alexander Gustafsson. Makdessi (11-2) enters the fight on a two-bout winning streak. He bounced back from the first two losses of his career to defeat Sam Stout and Daron Cruickshank. The Canadian now finds himself climbing back up the ladder of the 155-pound division. A third consecutive victory would likely put him in bouts against the division’s elite

A lightweight bout between John Makdessi (11-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and Renne Forte (8-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is the latest addition to September’s UFC 165 event. UFC officials today announced the matchup. Featuring a pair of championship matchups, UFC 165 takes place Sept. 21 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. The main card airs on pay-per-view following preliminary-card bouts on FX and Facebook. Makdessi vs. Forte likely will be part of the prelims. Makdessi looks to continue his recent success and post a third consecutive wins
