RFA 23 returns to SoCal with Joe Murphy vs. Terrion Ware headliner on Feb. 6

RFA will return to Southern California on Feb. 6 with “RFA 23: Murphy vs. Ware,” officials recently announced. The event takes place at The Hangar at OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif., and the main card airs on AXS TV. In the headliner, bantamweight contenders Joe Murphy (8-1) and Terrion Ware (12-3) square off.

Brian Ortega (8-0) and Keoni Koch (5-1) gave the fans everything they wanted and more in the RFA 12 main event, fighting hard for 25 minutes to determine which man would go home with the vacant Resurrection Fighting Alliance featherweight title. The headlining bout, which took place at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium and aired on AXS TV, saw Ortega outpoint Koch by split decision over five rounds in a close and highly competitive affair. It was a grappling and submission-heavy contest, with both men having their high points and coming close to the finish. In the end it was Ortega who was a step ahead for most of the fight and got the better of the exchanges. On multiple occasions Ortega nearly finished the fight, but Koch refused to give up and competed valiantly until the final bell. The pre-Ortega crowd stood strong behind the local fighter, and in the end left satisfied, as “T-City” emerged victorious.

Next month’s RFA 12 event now has a second title fight with the addition of bantamweight champion Pedro Munhoz (9-0) vs. Billy Daniels (7-0), officials recently announced. RFA 12 takes place Jan. 24 at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles
