Bellator London: Mike Shipman vs. Costello van Steenis among new prelim additions

The lineup for Bellator’s June return to London continues to build with a trio of new fights for the prelims. Mike Shipman (13-1 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) will put his 13-fight winning streak on the line against Costello van Steenis (11-1 MMA, 3-0 BMMA). And John Redmond (7-13 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) takes on George Tokkos (4-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA). Both fights are at middleweight. And in a bantamweight bout, Nathan Greyson (6-3 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) meets Frans Mlambo (6-4 MMA, 0-0 BMMA). Promotion officials announced the new bouts today

Conor McGregor apologizes for Bellator 187 fiasco, blasts ref’s ‘horrendous decision’

The UFC lightweight champion today released a statement to try to explain why it happened at the Dublin event. The trouble began when longtime McGregor teammate Charlie Ward (4-3 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) dropped opponent John Redmond (7-13 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with a hook late in the first round (watch the highlights above). Referee Marc Goddard stepped in to stop the bout as McGregor hopped the fence and tackled Ward in apparent celebration

Bellator heads to Dublin for Friday’s Bellator 187 event. The card lost its originally scheduled main event when rising Irish featherweight James Gallagher suffered a knee injury in October, but enough local fighters remain on the card to give the Irish crowd something to cheer about, including main event combatant Brian Moore . Moore landed in the top spot when Gallagher, his teammate at SBG Ireland, was removed from the fight.

The event took place at BT Sport Studio at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London and streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

Cage Warriors 77 results: Jack Marshman downs Christopher Jacquelin for middleweight belt

Cage Warriors Fight Night 11 results: Mason earns decision win over Vallee

The Cage Warriors Fight Night 11 main event between Jack Mason and Patrick Vallee was one of the more competitive bouts of the evening, but the end result saw Mason take home a unanimous-decision win. Their bout streamed on MMAjunkie from King Hussein Young City Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan. While Mason earned 30-27 scorecards from two of the judges and a 29-28 from the other, the welterweight headliner was much closer than the final tallies suggest.
