Jordan Parsons was 25 with 13 fights as a pro and three more from an amateur career that started when he was just 17. He’d spent a little less than a decade inside MMA gyms had only suffered one loss via knockout. Still, when researchers cut open his brain after Parsons died as a result of injuries sustained in an alleged hit-and-run accident earlier this year, they found the telltale signs of chronic traumatic encephalopathy – or CTE – the degenerative brain disease that has plagued athletes in other contact sports from football to boxing to hockey. Blackzilians founder praises Bellator, plans to start foundation in Jordan Parsons’ name

Blackzilians founder Glenn Robinson plans to start a foundation to honor the memory of Jordan Parsons , who passed away earlier this month as the result of a hit-and-run. Robinson told MMAjunkie the foundation’s initiatives will include help for underprivileged youth and anti-bullying campaigns, in addition to training scholarships at the JACO Hybrid Training Center in Delray Beach, Fla., which hosts the Blackzilians team.

The Delray Beach Police Department today announced they have arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of Bellator featherweight Jordan Parsons . Parsons, 25, was struck by a 2013 Range Rover Sport this past Sunday night. He slipped into a coma and doctors amputated his right leg in an attempt to save his life.

Filed under: Bellator , News , Videos Adam Piccolotti thinks he’s doing fine coming into his eighth professional bout, considering the circumstances. Piccolotti, who fights out of burgeoning tourist town Half Moon Bay in California, was supposed to fight Jordan Parsons on the Spike-televised main card of Bellator 154 on May 14. Then Parsons was the victim of a hit-and-run accident, and he passed away on Wednesday . It was supposed to be another notch on Piccolotti’s belt, extending his unbeaten streak and taking out a fighter from the highly regarded Blackzilians team. Now, it’s something entirely different. The 27-year-old Piccolotti said he’s never really experienced a death in his personal life, much less his professional one.

Jordan Parsons Police in Delray Beach, Fla., are seeking tips from the public to identify a car that may have run down Bellator fighter Jordan Parsons . Investigators have identified a 2012 or 2013 silver Land Rover Range Rover as the suspect vehicle after pieces of the car were found at the scene of the alleged hit-and-run on Sunday evening, according to a police press release. Pictures of the driver’s side mirror and car type are posted on the police department’s official Facebook page

Bellator featherweight Jordan Parsons has reportedly lost a portion of his right leg following a hit-and-run incident Saturday night. After an initial report from MMAFighting.com , Bellator officials put out a statement confirming Parsons (11-2 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) was, in fact, struck by a vehicle. Here’s the full statement: “Bellator has been informed of a terrible accident that occurred last night involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident,” the statement read. “We are still in the process of uncovering details and with his family’s consent, hope to have an update on his medical condition soon.
