Robert Drysdale vs. Ryan Spann headlines Legacy FC 58 for light heavyweight title in Louisiana

The light heavyweight title will be on the line when Legacy FC heads to Louisiana in July. Brazilian jiu-jitsu standout Robert Drysdale (6-0) will fight Ryan Spann (9-2) for the promotion’s 205-pound belt at Legacy FC 58, the promotion has announced. Legacy FC 58 will take place July 22 at Golden Nugget Hotel Casino in Lake Charles, La.

Filed under: AXS TV Fights , Featured , Featured Videos , News , Videos Friday’s Legacy FC 52 event in Louisiana was a perfect night of nothing but finishes on the main card on AXS TV. It’s really nothing new for the events on the cable network, but all six fights on the main card were stoppages with four submissions and a pair of TKOs. Legacy FC 52 took place at at Golden Nugget Lake Charles in Lake Charles, La. In the main event, Matt Schnell (9-2) pulled off an upset with a first-round submission of Klayton Mai (8-2) to take home Legacy’s interim flyweight title.

Matt Schnell (9-2) had hoped to fight for the Legacy FC flyweight title. Instead, he had to settle for taking home the promotion’s interim belt. Schnell scored an impressive first-round submission win over Klayton Mai (8-2) in the headlining bout of Friday’s Legacy FC 52 event, which took place at Golden Nugget Lake Charles in Lake Charles, La., and aired on AXS TV. Schnell scored first, landing a right hand that sent his opponent to the floor. Mai actually recovered quickly, slipping away from his opponent as they scrambled and moving to the top. But Schnell was active on his back, firing up his legs and looking for a triangle choke
