In the main event, Justin Lawrence (7-2) defended his featherweight title on Friday night with a first-round TKO of Sam Toomer (9-1). But the co-feature was 25 minutes that had fans – and the commentating crew – practically asleep in their seats. Francisco France (12-3-1) won RFA’s vacant middleweight title without much opposition from Gabriel Checco (8-2), who was on his back for most of the fight while France rode out a decision. The main card, including a headliner between featherweight champion Justin Lawrence (6-2) and undefeated challenger Sam Toomer (9-0) airs on AXS TV. Lawrence has won back-to-back fights since a quarterfinal-round finish on “The Ultimate Fighter 15″ and a 1-2 stint with the UFC. In his most recent bout, the 24-year-old striker earned a decision victory over Mark Dickman to claim the vacant RFA belt. He now meets Toomer, a 27-year-old Californian who fights for the third time under the RFA banner
