Champion Ashley Gooch (10-5) will defend his belt against Juliano Coutinho (7-3) at CES MMA 45, the promotion today announced. In addition, the card will feature a a lightweight bout between Nate Andrews (10-1) and Bruce Boyington (14-10)

Full WSOF 31 prelim lineup set with pair of heavyweight bouts featured

WSOF 31 now has a complete preliminary card set the promotion announced seven bouts. The prelims will feature some big men as Lorenzo Hood (9-3) takes on Tyler King (10-4) and Juliano Coutinho (7-2) faces off with Justin Willis (3-1). WSOF 31 takes place June 17 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. The main card airs on NBCSN following prelims on MMAjunkie. Hood is coming off a submission loss on the regional scene, snapping a three-fight winning streak.

Juliano Coutinho Juliano Coutinho ’s journey to the WSOF stage is a bit different from most fighters who make their way to a nationally televised promotion. Coutinho lost his pro debut, suffering a knockout in one minute against Pat Bennett. That was in August 2009. It was March 2012 before Coutinho had another professional bout. “After my MMA debut, which was a loss, I didn’t fight for a while,” Coutinho told MMAjunkie. “I put my nose to the grindstone and focused on training. Realistically, I saw that I needed to train more.
