Former Strikeforce women’s featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino captured her second major title on Saturday night in the main event of Invicta FC 6 in Kansas City, Mo. Justino stopped Marloes “Rumina” Coenen for the second time to claim the inaugural Invicta FC 145-pound championship. Justino (12-1) was in complete control of Saturday’s rematch and pay-per-view headliner from start to finish. She battered Coenen (21-6) with punches, knees and brutal slams that kept the Dutch standout on the defensive throughout the one-sided fight. Coenen did threaten with a kneebar in Round 2, but Justino easily escaped and she scored with more big punches on the feet

Invicta FC crowned its first featherweight champion on Saturday with a pay-per-view headliner and rematch between Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and Marloes Coenen . The five-round bout, which helped mark the organization’s move from online to traditional PPV, took place at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. Santos (12-1) earned a TKO victory in the first meeting at a 2010 Strikeforce event, and she looked to do it again when she rematched Coenen (21-6) this past weekend at the July 13 event. Invicta FC 6 bonuses: Penne, Nakamoto, Smith, Maia win awards

Jessica Penne , Miriam Nakamoto , Leslie Smith and Jennifer Maia each took home post-fight bonus awards for their performances at Saturday’s Invicta FC 6 card. Penne picked up the “Submission of the Night” bonus, Nakamoto won “Knockout of the Night,” and Smith and Maia were awarded “Fight of the Night.” Invicta officials announced the winners following the event, though bonus amounts were not released. “Invicta FC 6: Cyborg vs. Coenen” took place at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo., and aired on pay-per-view. In the main event, Cristiane Santos stopped Marloes Coenen in the fourth round to win the featherweight title. Penne (11-2), Invicta’s former atomweight champ, made easy work of Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc (8-7), picking up a first-round submission in her first fight since losing the title to Michelle Waterson in April. With just three seconds left in the first round, Penne forced Rivera-Calanoc to tap to a rear-naked choke.

Coenen, Santos and the rest of the card hit the scales at today’s official weigh-in ceremony, which took place at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. The same venue hosts Saturday’s pay-per-view event. Coenen and Santos, who meet in a rematch of their 2010 Strikeforce matchup, compete for the inaugural Invicta FC featherweight title. They lead a 10-fight main card that airs on pay-per-view. An additional three fights stream free prior to the featured bouts.

Online, the native Aussie makes herself available to fans and media, and as a result, commands more attention than others with her level of experience. She’s a puckish presence on forums, and unflustered by the juvenile behavior exhibited by young male fans. She never shies away from a wisecrack. Hyatt (5-2), though, admits that her upcoming fight has been a difficult undertaking when it comes to getting fans interested in watching. Visa issues will force Canadian fighter Charmaine Tweet (4-3) out of her featherweight fight against Ediane Gomes (10-2) on the main card of Invicta FC 6. Stepping in to face Gomes will be Tamikka Brents (2-0). Promotion officials late Wednesday confirmed a report of the injury from MMARising.com . Invicta FC 6 takes place Saturday at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. Throughout her college studies, Tecia Torres had her sights set on becoming a police officer or another member of the law enforcement community. She moved through those classes at Florida Atlantic University, but when she graduated she came to terms with the fact she couldn’t see herself carrying a gun or potentially taking a life. You may remember Rob Kimmons (25-9) from his time with the UFC and Tyler Stinson (25-9) from his stints with Bellator and Strikeforce. Now, you’ll remember their recent clash due to the carnage.
