Former MMA fighter Katy Collins , 32, died Wednesday after suffering a brain aneurysm, her coach announced on Facebook. Collins suffered the brain aneurysm last Friday, which caused a stroke and seizures. “The fight is over,” JT Tilley said . “You never stopped fighting and we never gave up on you. Just wasn’t in the cards. …I’ve always been so proud of you Kate.

Friday’s LFA 34 event included a comeback submission victory that clearly impressed MMA legend and cageside commentator Pat Miletich. LFA 34, which aired on AXS TV from Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake, Minn., saw lightweight champion Robert Watley (10-1) defend his belt with a decisive unanimous-decision victory over Brandon Jenkins (11-6) in the main event. The victory, which came via 49-45, 49-45 and 48-46 scores, included a seemingly legal knee that was deemed illegal, as well as Watley losing his contact lenses early in the fight. But the champ defended, and Watley (coincidentally nicknamed “Contact”) has now won 11 consecutive fights and surely earned him a place on t he UFC matchmakers’ radar

Featherweight prospect Brittney Elkin is set to make her Bellator debut on Friday night at “Bellator 181: Campos vs. Girtz 3” in Thackerville, Okla. Elkin (3-3 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) steps in on short notice to face Amanda Bell (4-4 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in a rematch from April 2014. Bell’s original opponent for Friday’s card, Alexis Dufresne , withdrew from the event due to undisclosed reasons, leaving an opportunity for Elkin to sign on for her most high-profile fight to date. Also confirmed for the Bellator 181 preliminary card is a flyweight matchup between proven finisher Katy Collins (6-2 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) and highly-touted Brazilian Bruna Vargas (2-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA), who seeks redemption after dropping her Bellator debut this past year. RFA 46 main card set with addition of five bouts, including Hill vs. Nakashima, Brown vs. Moffett

A light heavyweight title fight between Jordan Johnson (5-0) and LeMarcus Tucker (5-1) was previously announced as the featured bout of the event, which will take place at Branson Convention Center in Branson, Mo. The main card will air live on AXS TV. The promotion announced five additional bouts for the event, including a co-headliner between welterweights Desmond Hill (8-3) and James Nakashima (5-0). Hill is coming off a loss to Bellator veteran Desmond Green in his most recent bout, which snapped a four-fight winning streak. Nakashima is undefeated in his five professional bouts, winning every outing by unanimous decision.
