Blaisdell Center in Honolulu and saw a champion defend her title in the main event. Liz Carmouche (19-7 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) recorded a second consecutive defense of her women’s flyweight title when she rallied from a 3-0 deficit on the scorecards to submit DeAnna Bennett (13-8-1 MMA, 3-2 BMMA) with an arm-triangle choke in the fourth frame of their rematch. After Contender Series snub, Kenneth Cross looking to ‘put XFC on the map’

Kenneth Cross didn’t earn a contract from Dana White earlier this year, but he’s no longer focused on that chapter in his career. Cross (11-3) did what he needed to do to get the victory in his Dana White’s Contender Series, Season 4 appearance against Kevin Syler in August. However, he didn’t win in a manner that excited White enough to award him a UFC deal. Since then, Cross signed with the XFC and will debut on its relaunch card on Wednesday in Atlanta, XFC 43, against fellow lightweight Jarel Askew. For the time being, his UFC aspirations are paused – and he’s OK with that. “If I think about long-term goals, (mine) is to make enough money to support my family and myself and anything we want to do,” Cross told MMA Junkie Radio

Dana White’s Contender Series 29 results: Both Cosce brothers, two other fighters earn UFC contracts

LAS VEGAS – Dana White’s Contender Series 29 took place Tuesday at the UFC Apex and four fighters walked away with UFC contracts afterward. In the main event, Louis Cosce punched his way into the UFC with a 82-second TKO win over two-time DWCS alumnus Victor Reyna . Earlier on the card, Louis’ brother Orion Cosce, the biggest betting underdog on the card, rallied to TKO previously undefeated highly-touted Matt Dixon in the final minute of Round 3. Both brothers earned UFC contracts. Joining the Cosce brothers as the newest members of the UFC was Josh Parisian . Having competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, Season 2 and The Ultimate Fighter 28, Parisian took the long road to the UFC.

In the night’s featured contest, Dustin Jacoby (12-5) looked impressive in a one-sided decision win over Ty Flores (7-3) but failed to earn a stoppage over an incredibly durable foe. Jacoby scored with a snapping low kicks to start, then showed quick hands in drilling a few straights, as well
