The early part of ONE Championship’s 2025 got a little healthier with the addition of three fights to ONE 171. Of particular note, Croatian standout Roberto Soldic (20-4) will return for the first time in nearly two years to take on Dagi Arslanaliev (9-2), who will move up to welterweight from lightweight.

In his first fight in a year, former UFC standout John Lineker put himself in the ONE Championship title picture with a second-round TKO. Lineker (33-9) took out former ONE bantamweight champion Kevin Belingon (20-8) with a blistering stoppage worthy of his “Hands of Stone” nickname. Lineker drilled Belingon with a stiff left jab, then came behind it with a right uppercut that put Belingon on the canvas against the fence. With Belingon covering up, Lineker delivered several quick left hands that forced the referee to jump in for a TKO at the 1:16 mark of the second round

John Lineker hopes win over Kevin Belingon at ONE Championship 120 leads to title shot

John Lineker is looking to make an immediate impact under the ONE Championship banner. After making good in his promotional debut with a unanimous decision win over Muin Gafurov in October 2019, Lineker (32-9) faces former bantamweight champion Kevin Belingon Friday at ONE Championship 120. Lineker, who was on the cusp of title contention in the UFC, is expecting to earn a shot at gold if he can finish former champ Belingon in Singapore on Friday. “My preparation against Belingon has been one of my best preparations so far in my career, and I believe that I’m going to be able to show what I came for, and that is being the champion,” Lineker said in a virtual media day interview with ONE Championship. He continued, “I studied a lot of his videos. He seems to be a very versatile opponent.

ONE bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes says Kevin Belingon has to earn fifth title fight

Bibiano Fernandes has dominated ONE Championship’s bantamweight division since his arrival in the Asian promotion in 2013, and he said that he’s looking forward to defending his belt once again once the promotion gets back to hosting shows again. ONE’s event schedule has been put on hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but the Vancouver-based Brazilian said he’s ready to take a call to compete when ONE gets back up and running again. He’s just asked that he’s given as much notice as possible. “For being right, right, right, right weeks before the fight,” Fernandes (24-4) told MMA Junkie. “Every athlete, to make the body strong… for sure, (you need) eight weeks (to prepare). But if you really have to go, that’s a different situation.

Bibiano Fernandes once again is ONE Championship’s bantamweight title holder, but probably not the way he wanted to get the belt back. In a rematch with Kevin Belingon , who took the title from him this past November by split decision, Fernandes (23-4) won by disqualification after Belingon (20-6) landed a pair of illegal elbows to the back of the head in the second round. When Fernandes couldn’t continue, Belingon was given a red card – a disqualification – and Fernandes was declared the winner and new champion.
