Keoni Koch injured, Jeff Curran meets Pedro Munhoz for 135 title at RFA 9

After pulling out of a flyweight title fight for Resurrection Fighting Alliance, Jeff Curran now will return to bantamweight and get a shot at a belt. Curran (34-15) will step in for an injured Keoni Koch (5-0) and will meet Pedro Munhoz (8-0) for the RFA 135-pound title next month at RFA 9. RFA officials announced the change late Friday. “RFA 9: Curran vs. Munhoz” takes place Aug. 16 at StubHub Center in Los Angeles.

UFC 164 lineup finalized as Poirier vs. Koch secures final PPV slot

The fight card is set for next month’s UFC 164 event, and an intriguing featherweight bout between Dustin Poirier (13-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and Erik Kock (13-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has secured the final main-card spot and will kick off the night’s pay-per-view main card. UFC 164 takes place Aug. 31 at Bradley Center in Milwaukee. In addition to the PPV lineup, prelims air on FX and stream on Facebook. The event features a championship headliner and rematch between UFC lightweight titleholder Benson Henderson (19-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and injury replacement Anthony Pettis (16-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC). The latter, who replaced injured T.J. Grant , won the duo’s initial meeting in 2010 at the WEC’s final event

function not found Ed Soares, President of Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA), recently announced that the RFA will hold its first ever event in Los Angeles and that Pedro Munhoz and Keoni Koch will be headlining the card in a battle for the vacant RFA bantamweight title. On Friday, Aug. 16, RFA will present “ RFA 9: Munhoz vs. Koch ” live from the StubHub Center in L.A. and televised nationally on AXS TV. “I am so excited to bring the RFA to Los Angeles and to give fans in my hometown this championship title fight between undefeated Pedro Munhoz and undefeated Keoni Koch,” said Soares.
