KSW heavyweight champion Phil De Fries is proved his championship pedigree in March 2019 when he turned back the challenge of light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun . De Fries took on Poland’s Narkun at KSW 47 , which took place at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland, and saw the Englishman extend his winning run to five as he outlasted his opponent over five grueling rounds to register his second straight defense of his title. Narkun started out aggressively and looked to use his striking to put the champion on the back foot, but it was De Fries’ power that proved decisive in Round 1. He tagged Narkun with a big right hand that dropped him to the canvas. De Fries followed his man to the mat and punished the Pole with ground and pound until the end of the round

Tomasz Narkun showed heart and a remarkable ability to withstand damage, but ultimately lacked the gas tank to match Phil De Fries ’ pressure in the main event of Saturday’s KSW 47. The result was a sometimes interesting, but ultimately one-sided 25-minute affair that ended with 50-44, 50-44 and 50-45 scorecards favoring De Fries. That meant De Fries got to keep KSW’s heavyweight title, while light heavyweight champion Narkun fell short in his attempt to achieve champ-champ status. KSW 47 streamed live on DAZN from Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland. The decision added a fifth straight win to De Fries’ (17-6) record, which includes UFC and Bellator stints. He remains unbeaten at KSW, where he had his title-winning debut last April.

Poland’s leading MMA promotion, KSW, returns to action Saturday with “KSW 47: De Fries vs. Narkun,” which streams live on DAZN from Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland. Today, several of the card’s featured fighters came together for open workouts. In the main event, KSW heavyweight champion Phil De Fries (16-6) puts his title on the line against light heavyweight title holder Tomasz Narkun (16-2). Both champs were featured in the session.
