Livia Renata Souza A second title fight has been added to the card for next month’s Invicta FC 17 event. Officials today announced strawweight champion Livia Renata Souza (9-0) will meet former UFC fighter and “The Ultimate Fighter 20” cast member Angela Hill (4-2) in the night’s co-headliner. Invicta FC 17 takes place May 7 at The Hangar at OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif., and the entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass. As previously announced , bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger (16-6) meets Colleen Schneider (10-6) in the main event. Souza looks for her second title defense after winning the belt with a submission victory over Katja Kankaanpaa and then defending it with a January TKO win over DeAnna Bennett

Invicta FC 12 weigh-in results: Headliners hit mark, others miss

Katja Kankaanpaa and Livia Renata Souza Invicta FC 12 weigh-ins took place today, and strawweight title holder Katja Kankaanpaa (114.6) and challenger Livia Renata Souza (113.9) each came in under the championship limit. The weigh-ins took place at the Holiday Inn Kansas City Downtown – Aladdin Hotel. The nearby Municipal Auditorium hosts Friday’s UFC Fight Pass-streamed event. Not everyone on the card was able to meet their contracted weight. Flyweight Vanessa Porto , bantamweight Raquel Pa’aluhi, featherweight Latoya Walker and strawweight Jenny Liou each missed weight on their first trip to the cage. Only Pa’aluhi was able to make weight on her second trip to the scale, though she was still fined 15 percent of her purse

Invicta FC 12 adds three bouts, including Modafferi vs. Porto rematch

Roxanne Modafferi The card for Invicta FC 12 is beginning to come together with the announcement of three more fights, including a rematch in the co-main event. Roxanne Modafferi (17-11) will look to repeat her 2008 TKO of Vanessa Porto (17-6) when the two meet in a flyweight bout. Headlined by a strawweight title fight between Katja Kankaanpaa (10-1-1) and Livia Renata Souza (7-0), Invicta FC 12 takes place April 24 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The event streams live in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass. Modafferi scored the only knockout victory of her career when she first fought Porto in 2008. Modafferi is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, a significant turnaround from the six-fight losing skid that preceded it. Porto is on her own two-fight winning streak and has won 10 of 13 bouts since the loss to Modafferi
