Niklas Backstrom at UFC Fight Night 53 Niklas Backstrom  (8-1 MMA 1-1 UFC) appeared to be in control of featherweight Mike Wilkinson (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) before he threw a lazy front kick that marked the beginning of the end at UFC Fight Night 53. Wilkinson avoided the kick and r esponded with a counter right hand that dropped his Swedish foe in a heap. The original punch was likely enough to halt the action, but Wilkinson followed up with a flurry on the ground to put an exclamation point on the win. Albert Tumenov def.

Fighting in the co-feature of Friday night’s Legacy FC 36 event, Page stole the shot with a brutal first-round knockout of Brian Hall, capturing the promotion’s flyweight title in the process. The 32-year-old Page is now 3-0 in 2014, with all three wins coming by way of stoppage. Check out the video above to see Page’s incredible finish, as well as some of the other top action from Friday’s AXS TV-broadcast fight card.
