Filed under: AXS TV Fights , Featured Videos , News , Videos Legacy FC put together another solid night of fights, though it wasn’t necessarily a banner evening for the event’s referees. Legacy FC 56 took place Friday at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, and the main card aired on AXS TV. In the headliner, Steven Peterson (14-4) dethroned Manny Vazquez (9-2) to claim the bantamweight title , though the ref was a little slow to wave off the fight after the now-ex-champ went to sleep. In the co-feature, bantamweight Jason Sampson (14-1) earned a hard-fought and lopsided decision victory over durable Ryan Hollis (11-9), though a questionable groin strike again put the ref in the spotlight.

Legacy FC 56 results: Steven Peterson puts Manny Vazquez to sleep to claim bantamweight belt

Steven Peterson Steven Peterson (14-4) claimed his sixth consecutive victory, and in it came in dramatic fashion and saw him earn Legacy FC’s bantamweight title by choking out former champ Manny Vazquez (9-2). The contest served as the main event of Friday’s Legacy FC 56 event, which took place at The Bomb Factory in Dallas and aired on AXS TV. Peterson was aggressive to start, firing heavy shots as he walked forward. Vazquez eventually brought the fight to the floor with a trip and then shucked off a guillotine attempt and settled in top position. Peterson went back to the choke but again couldn’t finish, though he found some offensive success again when the fight went back to the feet
