A number of fighters have recently announced their releases , and now, more than a dozen others have apparently joined the list. According to @UFCFIGHTERSiNFO , an automated Twitter account that tracks changes to the official UFC.com fighter database, a number of competitors were cut. Although the UFC rarely announces roster cuts, the online roster is about as close to an official list as fans can get

Yoel Romero UFC Fight Night 70 featured a makeshift lineup after numerous fighters were pulled from the card on short notice after an issue with the U.S. visa system prevented foreign fighters from making the date. The main event stayed intact, however, and Yoel Romero (10-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) stole the show with an incredible third-round knockout of Lyoto Machida (22-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC) from a vicious series of elbows. Lineup changes turned the organization’s first event in Hollywood, Fla., since 2007 into the first nine-fight card of the year. Leandro Silva HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – His technique wasn’t always pretty, but Leandro Silva ’s aggression paid off when he and newcomer Lewis Gonzalez went to the judges’ scorecards. Silva (18-2-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) took home a unanimous-decision win over Gonzalez (10-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and gave UFC fans a better look after a botched referee’s call in his previous bout led to an overturned win. The welterweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 70 event at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

Visa issues force massive shuffling at next week’s UFC Fight Night 70 event

The lightweight and bantamweight tournament finals of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4,” which is currently airing in Brazil, have been moved to UFC 190, which takes place Aug. 1 in Rio de Janeiro. Lewis Gonzalez hopes for title shot with WSOF 12 win, predicts finish of Palomino

Lewis Gonzalez had a WSOF lightweight title fight in his grasp once before, and he isn’t about to let it slip through the cracks again. Gonzalez was originally scheduled to meet reigning 155-pound champion Justin Gaethje in January, but an undisclosed injury forced him out of the contest. It was a difficult decision to withdraw, mainly because it’s always difficult to predict if, or when, another chance to compete for a world championship will come around. With Gaethje’s next challenger anticipated to come in the form of Melvin Guillard , there’s an opening for another contender to step up and make a claim at the next No. 1 contender spot.

WSOF won’t be going to Tokyo just yet after all. Instead, the promotion returns to its Las Vegas home base for WSOF 12 next month. WSOF 12 will take place Aug. 9 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in “Sin City.” That date and location is a change from a previously announced Aug. 2 plan for Tokyo, which would’ve been the promotion’s first event in Japan
