LFA returned Friday night for their 18th event of 2019, with LFA 74 at Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, Calif. In the main event, two hulking heavyweights, 6-foot-10 Renan Ferreira (6-2) and 6-foot-4 Jared Vanderaa (9-4), threw down. From the opening bell, Ferreira began to chop at the lead leg of Vanderaa.

Friday night, Spike Carlyle kicked off LFA 74 with a bang. In the main-card opener, the California-based lightweight Carlyle (7-1) squared off with Matthew Colquhoun (6-4). Despite being seven inches shorter than his opponent, Carlyle ended the bout in the first round in an emphatic, highlight-reel manner. The LFA will return to California later this month with a key heavyweight fight in the main event. Former title challenger Jared Vanderaa (9-3) will take on Renan Ferreira (5-2) in the LFA 74 headliner. The event takes place Aug. 30 at Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, Calif.
