Jorge Masvidal knows that no one will take him seriously as a UFC lightweight contender until he registers some stoppage wins. Luckily for the Strikeforce vet, he believes he’s fighting a “watered-down Royce Gracie ” next week at UFC on FOX 8. Masvidal, a 28-year-old American Top Team product who’s fought for a variety of major promotions, made his long-awaited UFC debut in April and scored a decision victory over a tough Tim Means . But the hard-hitting Masvidal had trouble dealing with his opponent and reverted to his wrestling base to secure the win. “A victory’s a victory, and I learned a couple things fighting Tim Means,” he told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). “I learned a couple things I can do to southpaws, some of the tricky stuff he does. UFC 163 takes place Aug. 3 at HSBC Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook. Although the bout order isn’t official, the fight card now features 13 fights. A lightweight bout between big-show vets Tyson Griffin (16-6) and Gesias Cavalcante (17-7-1) is the latest addition to August’s World Series of Fighting 4 lineup. WSOF officials recently confirmed the bout with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) following an initial report from Tatame . WSOF takes place Aug. 10 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. The main card, which is likely to include Griffin vs. Cavalcante, airs on NBC Sports Network. Dave Jansen Injured, Bellator Champ Michael Chandler Gets New Opponent, New Date

Bellator No. 1 lightweight contender and Season 7 tournament winner Dave Jansen has withdrawn from his Bellator 96 challenge of champion Michael Chandler due to an ACL injury. Chandler will still defend his belt, but that won’t happen until Bellator 97 on July 31, and he’ll do so against Season 8 tournament winner David Rickels , who now leap-frogs Jansen. Bellator officials announced the change Sunday morning. “I’m already back in the gym getting ready for the biggest test of my career,” Rickels said. “I was prepared for another few months off with Jansen already in line for his title shot, but when I got the news I was pumped because I got to enjoy myself for a while after the tournament, but now I’m ready to fight for that belt.” Rickels defeated Saad Awad at Bellator 94 at the end of March. Now, he’ll make the quick turn for a shot at Bellator gold. “Chandler is going to bring a huge challenge, but I know I need to focus on my takedown defense, and just push the pace,” he added.
