UFC CEO Dana White dropped the lineup along with a new bout order confirmed for the show.

Perennial top-ten lightweights Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos met in the Octagon Wednesday in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 27 from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Cerrone, who has become a fan-friendly scraper of epic proportions during his tenure in the UFC was making his tenth appearance in the Octagon and was looking to add some career momentum after his recent win over K.J. Noons at UFC 160. Dos Anjos was riding a UFC career best four-fight winning streak, and certainly wasn’t interested in seeing “The Cowboy” render all of his previous victories moot

Cage Warriors continues to fill out the card for its September return to Wales with the addition of a pair of main-card fights and two prelims. On the main card at Cage Warriors 59, former UFC welterweight Che Mills (15-6) will make the jump to middleweight to take on Valentino Petrescu (12-3). Plus, lightweights Lewis Long (7-2) and Tommy Maguire (14-5) will meet. Cage Warriors 59 takes place Sept. 14 at Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales. The main card, including a featherweight title fight between Jim Alers and Martin Svensson and the finals from a four-man bantamweight tourney to crown a champ that begins on the prelims, streams on MMAjunkie.com . Bellator Signs Lightweight Champ Michael Chandler to Eight-Fight Contract Extension

Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler is currently preparing to defend his belt at next week’s Bellator 97 in Albuquerque, but he didn’t have to wait until after the fight to get a new deal done with the promotion. Bellator MMA on Thursday revealed that it signed Chandler to an eight-fight extension to his current contract. “In all my years in combat sports, I’ve never seen the growth and development in a fighter like we’ve all witnessed with Michael Chandler,” Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney said. “I believe Michael is the best lightweight in MMA . And, given that, I felt it was paramount to keep Michael at Bellator for the long term. Both inside and outside the cage, Michael is a tremendous representative for our Bellator. And, now as one of the highest paid lightweights in MMA, he’s without question earned that distinction.” Chandler (11-0) was a relative unknown until he upset then-champion Eddie Alvarez for the Bellator lightweight title late in 2011 in what many considered the Fight of the Year. He has since fought just twice. Chandler’s first bout after winning the belt was a non-title victory over Akihiro Gono in May 2012. He then made his first title defense with a second-round submission of Rick Hawn in January of this year.

CEO: Bellator champ Michael Chandler now one of MMA’s highest-paid lightweights

When asked how much he had to convince Bellator MMA lightweight champion Michael Chandler to sign a new long-term deal with the Viacom-owned fight promotion, Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney put it in terms everyone could understand. “I can tell you that every single time Michael and I go out to dinner for the rest of our lives, he picks up the check,” Rebney told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). That sounds just fine to the unbeaten Chandler (11-0 MMA, 8-0 BFC), who told MMAjunkie.com on Wednesday that he’d agreed to a new multi-fight contract with Bellator – one which Rebney insisted would make Chandler “one of the highest-paid lightweights in all of MMA.” The new deal comes just a week before Chandler is slated to defend the Bellator 155-pound title against Season 8 tournament winner David Rickels (14-1 MMA, 8-1 BFC) at Bellator 97 on July 31. It also comes at a time when Chandler had roughly a year left on his existing Bellator contract, according to Rebney. The new contract will keep him off the free agent market and with Bellator for years to come, both men said in a phone interview.
