Ronnie Mann ‘s Cage Warriors debut has been set for a while, but he now has his opponent. Mann (21-6-1) will meet Spain’s Jose Luis Zapater (17-9) next month at Cage Warriors 57. Promotion officials on Wednesday announced the fight booking, as well as a pair of preliminary-card fights. Cage Warriors 57 takes place July 20 at Echo Arena in Liverpool. Long-running U.K. promotion Cage Warriors has secured two Bellator fighters for what looks set to be one of the best English MMA cards of the year. Ronnie Mann and Paul Daley will both be in action at the show, which is set for the Echo Arena in Liverpool on July 20. The main event of Cage Warriors 57 sees Daley (32-12-2) take on Poland’s Lukasz Chlewicki (10-2) in a welterweight clash. It will be the first time the UFC and Strikeforce veteran has fought in his native England since 2011. Daley signed for Bellator a year ago and made a successful promotional debut, stopping Rudy Bears in the opening round. Visa issues stemming from an ongoing legal case have since prevented “Semtex” from returning to fight in the U.S. He has kept busy in the interim, registering stoppage wins over Patrick Vallee in Ireland and Rodrigo Ribeiro in Dubai

Cage Warriors has reached a deal with Bellator to acquire the services of Paul Daley (32-12-2) for a Cage Warriors 57 main event bout with fellow welterweight Lukasz Chlewicki (10-2-1). Officials today confirmed the plans with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). As of now, the agreement calls for just the one Cage Warriors appearance. Cage Warriors 57 takes place July 20 at Echo Arena in Liverpool, which will host its first show since “Cage Warriors 21: Enter the Wolfslair” in 2006. The main card airs on MMAjunkie.com following prelims on Facebook. “I’m looking forward to a fantastic main event in Liverpool on July 20, and I’d like to thank Bellator for their cooperation in allowing Paul Daley to compete for Cage Warriors,” stated Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan, whose company also recently bought out Ronnie Mann ‘s Bellator contract. Daley, an English fighter, is on a 5-1 run that includes stints with Strikeforce and current home Bellator. The former UFC fighter fights for Cage Warriors for the first time since 2008, when he knocked out Bojan Kosednar.

Cage Warriors pays for Bellator release, inks Ronnie Mann

Cage Warriors today announced the signing of big-show bantamweight veteran Ronnie Mann to a five-fight deal. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though a Cage Warriors official told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the organization paid $5,000 to get him out of his Bellator contract. Mann will fight exclusively for Cage Warriors over the next 18 months. His debut will come at Cage Warriors 57, which takes place July 20 in England at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
