In the CES MMA 42 main event, welterweight champion Chris Curtis (15-5) didn’t have an easy time with Wilfredo Santiago Jr. (7-4). But he survived a few bumps in the road to get a second-round TKO at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I., on AXS TV. After his victory, Curtis said he belongs in the UFC – and wants to fight Mike Perry once he gets there. The originally planned championship main event between Ryan Sanders (10-7) and lightweight champion Luis Felix (14-9) has been scrapped after an injury forced the champ out of the bout. Sanders will now face former UFC fighter Levan Makashvili (7-2-1) in a non-title bout.
