Luiz Dutra ’s fight lasted just one punch – and what a painful one it was. At today’s WFCA 34 event in Moscow, Dutra (13-6-1) threw his first punch of the fight, he missed, and he immediately fell to the mat in agony. “Besouro” appeared to dislocate his shoulder as he winged a big overhand right at Russia welterweight Abubakar Vagaev (13-2), which brought about a quick end to the fight. Tom Breese and Luiz Dutra GOIANIA, Brazil – Tom Breese might have needed a few minutes to find his range in his UFC debut, but once he found it he wasted no time putting it to good use against Luiz Dutra . Breese (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) used a long left hand to put Dutra (11-4-1 MMA, 0-2 UFC) down late in the first, and a jackhammering series of hammer fists to finish him off at the 4:58 mark of Round 1, forcing a TKO finish just before the horn. The welterweight bout opened up the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 67 event at Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims and a main card on FOX Sports 1. At first Breese struggled to make use of his height and reach advantage against the shorter Dutra, allowing the Brazilian to get in close and work from the clinch, where Dutra found early success with elbow strikes. Luiz Dutra Luiz Dutra ’s UFC debut was disastrous, he’ll be looking to put on a better showing when he steps into the octagon at UFC Fight Night 67. Dutra (11-3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) made his UFC debut against Kiichi Kunimoto (16-5-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 34. At the 2:37 mark of Round 1, Dutra landed a series of elbows to the back of Kunimoto’s head.

Ryan Jimmo The card for the UFC’s return to Goiania, Goias, Brazil, continues to come together with the announcement of two more fights for UFC Fight Night 67. The UFC announced a light-heavyweight bout between Ryan Jimmo (19-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and Francimar Barroso (16-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC), as well as a welterweight fight between UFC newcomer Tom Breese (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Luiz Dutra (11-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC). UFC Fight Night 67 takes place May 30 at Goiania Arena. The bulk of the card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. The evening’s main event sees former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit face Thiago Alves. Luiz Dutra simply got lost in the moment when he suffered a disqualification loss at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 34, but he said his opponent isn’t completely innocent in the ordeal. In his promotional debut, Dutra (11-3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) said he got overly aggressive in the welterweight main-card bout. That led to some illegal elbows to underdog Kiichi Kunimoto (16-5-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who took some of the downward shots to the back of his head. With Kunimoto unable to continue, the fight was waved off, and Dutra was stuck with the DQ defeat. “I think he really felt the first elbow,” Dutra told MMAjunkie.

SINGAPORE – It certainly was not the type of debut that Luiz Dutra and Kiichi Kunimoto wanted to have. After landing five elbows in the clinch, three of which seemed to be directly to the back of Kunimoto’s head, Dutra was disqualified in the first round and left the octagon in frustrated tears. Referee John Sharp halted the fight at 2:57 of the first round when Kunimoto said he couldn’t continue. The welterweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 34 event at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. It streamed on the UFC’s new Fight Pass digital network. Dutra fended off a Kunimoto takedown attempt early in the fight and was able to land a few punches in the process
