She discusses the honor of being the first female Lithuanian fighter to appear on a UFC platform, and she karate champion wants to represent for her country. Head coach Robert Whittaker says he’s particularly excited for Stoliarenko’s upcoming matchup against Team Gastelum’s Marciea Allen because his top female pick finally gets the chance to compete. The coaching staff is high on Stoliarenko’s skillset and thinks she can win on both the feet and ground. wh At the next Team Gastelum training session, head coach Kelvin Gastelum brings in some special guest coaches.

After 10 years in the MMA industry, Marciea Allen had fought in about as many promotions as she had fights. The one absent on her resume, of course, was the industry’s leader. So when the UFC held a casting call for women’s featherweight talent, a division sorely lacking in population due to champ Cris Cyborg’s (20-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) outsized presence, Allen (7-2) figured it was the best way to make her entrance.

If you missed Friday’s Invicta FC 29 event, you missed a mangled finder on the undercard. You’ve been warned, so continue at your own risk. In a bantamweight bout, Julia Avila (3-1) suffered a first-round TKO loss to Marciea Allen (7-2) after suffering the broken digit . Photographer Dave Mandel captured the image after Avila checked a kick, circled, looked down, and realized the ring finger on her left hand had broken, sending a bone protruding the skin. It brought about a halt to Friday’s bout, which streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo.
