Marcos Rogerio de Lima has been suspended one year by UFC anti-doping for a failed drug test – his second career violation. Thursday, UFC drug testing program Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) announced the violation and punishment, which renders de Lima (22-9-1 MMA, 11-7 UFC) unable to compete until Jan. 24, 2026. According to CSAD, de Lima tested positive in an out-of-competition urinalysis for anastrozole, which it defines as a hormone and metabolic modulator that is prohibited at all times by the UFC. CSAD traced the positive test back to a medication de Lima was taking for a documented medical condition

Junior Tafa ’s decision to step into a fight on one day’s notice was commendable by all accounts, but ultimately Marcos Rogerio de Lima was the better fighter at UFC 298 . In a heavyweight prelim Saturday at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., Rogerio de Lima (22-9-1 MMA, 11-7 UFC) battered the lead leg of Tafa (5-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) with kicks until a stoppage at 1:14 of Round 2. From the first leg kick, Tafa was impaired. He was able to recuperate multiple times when de Lima elected to try grappling and clinch work. Ultimately, de Lima revisited the leg kicks early in Round 2 and ended the fight emphatically.

In a heavyweight bout on the UFC 291 main card, Lewis (27-11 MMA, 18-9 UFC) ran across the cage for a flying knee on the opening bell and finished Marcos Rogerio de Lima (21-9-1 MMA, 10-7 UFC) with follow-up punches 33 seconds into Round 1.
