Sunday’s UFC Freedom 250 event on the South Lawn of The White House will be the second time the fight promotion has held an event outdoor. The first, UFC 112, was held in an open-air, outdoor temporary concert arena in the Middle East on Yas Island. UFC CEO Dana White has gone on record several times voicing his unwillingness to hold events outdoors citing weather as his main concern.

In lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett ‘s last octagon appearance, he earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus and picked up the biggest win of his career. “The Baddy” defeated Michael Chandler via TKO last April the UFC 314 co-main event in Miami, Florida. After 13 minutes inside the cage with “Iron,” Pimblett considers Chandler to be a dirty fighter. “Like Chandler, Chandler’s a proper nice fella, but in the cage he’s a dirty b*stard,” Pimblett said on his YouTube channel

Reinier de Ridder edges out Robert Whittaker by split decision in UFC Abu Dhabi main event

While he did get absolutely bombed with a punch that knocked him to the ground in the third round, de Ridder showed off some impressive grappling and managed to hurt Whittaker several times with some nasty knees to the body. Combine that with his ability to control the distance and outwork Whittaker in the clinch and that was enough for de Ridder to secure the win in the UFC Abu Dhabi main event

UFC Abu Dhabi results: Shara Magomedov bloodies, batters Marc-Andre Barriault in return to win column

Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC Shara “Bullet” Magomedov had a couple of dicey moments but otherwise he bloodied and battered Marc-Andre Barriault across three rounds to win a unanimous decision at UFC Abu Dhabi . The striking acumen was once again on display as Magomedov hammered Barriault with leg kicks, body kicks and even a few elbows to the head, which may have done the most damage in the fight. While Barriault hung tough and never went away, he just coulnd’t do the necessary damage to stop Magomedov’s striking attacks.

Max Holloway beats Dustin Poirier in classic UFC 318 main event

It was a true war of attrition as Holloway scored multiple knockdowns before Poirier eventually returned the favor as they left it all in the cage over 25 minutes.
