UFC Brings The Ultimate Fighter to China in November as well as Live Events Starting in 2014

function not found The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced on Thursday a new, multi-year partnership which will bring regular live UFC events to Asia, as well as a Chinese version of the UFC’s hit reality series The Ultimate Fighter . Beginning in 2014, the UFC will stage a series of live events at both The Venetian Macao and Marina Bay Sands. TUF China will be a 12-part series where the best Chinese mixed martial artists will live, train and compete with each other to win a six-figure contract with the UFC. The Chinese edition of The Ultimate Fighter will be co-produced by UFC and Liaoning Radio Television and is scheduled to premiere this November on Liaoning Satellite TV, reaching more than 830 million viewers across China. The live finale event to determine the inaugural champion of The Ultimate Fighter China will be held at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena in March 2014. Mark Fischer, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC Asia, said: “We are very excited to announce these new partnerships with Sands China and Liaoning Radio Television. With Sands China’s support we will be bringing regular events to the region, as well as the Chinese edition of The Ultimate Fighter. The recently discussed Chinese version of “The Ultimate Fighter” is set for a November debut. The series marks the start of a new, multi-year deal which promises “regular live UFC events to Asia,” including sites in Macau and Singapore. UFC officials today announced the plans, which include a “series of live events at both The Venetian Macau and Marina Bay Sands, the luxury Singapore property of Sands China’s parent company” in 2014. “We are very excited to announce these new partnerships with Sands China and Liaoning Radio Television,” UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC Asia Mark Fischer said. “With Sands China’s support, we will be bringing regular events to the region, as well as the Chinese edition of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ “This is an unprecedented initiative for any global sports league in China. Bellator Summer Series and Fight Master Open to Disappointing TV Ratings

Bellator and Spike TV launched the new reality series Fight Master: Bellator MMA on Wednesday night with the Bellator 96 live event serving as lead-in programming. The TV ratings for the night could only be characterized as disappointing in comparison to Bellator’s strong Season 8 showing on Spike TV. Bellator 96 drew an audience of 480,000 viewers for its two hours of live fights, while the one-hour Fight Master premiere averaged 432,000 viewers, according to Spike TV officials. To put that in perspective, Bellator 96’s audience was slightly more than half the average viewership for the promotion’s first season on Spike TV. Bellator Season 8’s live events averaged slightly less than 800,000 viewers per show. Fight Master ’s 432,000 viewers on Spike was well below the final season of its counterpart’s run on the network. The Ultimate Fighter wrapped its run on Spike averaging 1.5 million viewers per episode. Bellator 96 and Fight Master did have significant hurdles to overcome

The UFC 161: Evans vs. Henderson preliminary bout telecast on FX drew the lowest TV ratings of any UFC pay-per-view event prelims since UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort last September. The UFC 161 Prelims drew an average audience of 968,000 viewers on Saturday. That was a significant decrease from the UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot II prelims, which amassed 1.3 million viewers. The UFC 152 prelims bottomed out at 955,000 viewers. The UFC 161 Prelims accounted for the third lowest total audience of the 19 UFC pay-per-view event prelim broadcasts on FX.
