$375 million UFC antitrust settlement gets final approval

A U.S. District Court judge has granted final approval to a settlement agreement between the UFC and a class of former fighters who filed a lawsuit against the promotion more than a decade ago.

UFC antitrust lawsuit moves forward with judge granting class-action status

In a big win for the plaintiffs in the years-long UFC antitrust lawsuit, U.S. District Judge Richard Boulware has certified it with class-action status. Boulware, who made the announcement Thursday, granted certification for the bout class but did not grant the same for the identity class. The decision was expected after Boulware tipped his hand back in September .

The long-running suit broke new ground this week as experts for the plaintiffs and defendants got face-to-face with a Nevada federal judge in Las Vegas. The evidence heard is expected to inform a decision on whether former UFC fighters Jon Fitch , Nate Quarry , Cung Le and others can band together in a class-action suit against the promotion.
