Four champions confirmed for Cage Warriors’ September triple-header

Plans for Cage Warriors’ September triple-header are moving along at pace, with the confirmation that four of the promotion’s defending champions will put their titles on the line. “Cage Warriors: The Trilogy” will see the promotion host three events on successive nights at the BEC Arena, Manchester from Sep. 24-26 in three events, Cage Warriors 114, 115 and 116. The promotion has confirmed that newly-crowned lightweight champion Mason Jones will be in action, as well bantamweight champ Jack Cartwright . Middleweight belt-holder Nathias Frederick and flyweight champion Samir Faiddine will also be in action across the three-day, three-event run, which is expected to feature more than 30 fights across the three events.

LONDON – Nathias Frederick produced a thrilling finale of flying fists and knees to stop James Webb and capture the Cage Warriors middleweight title in their championship rematch at Cage Warriors 111 on Friday night. The first meeting between the pair ended in a draw after Frederick (8-2-1 MMA, 1-0-1 CWFC) fell foul of point deductions for an illegal spike on the champion, while Webb (6-2-1 MMA, 4-2-1 CWFC) bemoaned the judging that saw him only scrape a draw, despite the scorecard sanctions handed to his opponent. It meant a rematch was essential, and the pair met in a grueling encounter in the main event at Indigo at The O2 that looked set to go all the way to the judges’ scorecards once again.

While somewhat overshadowed by the oddities of a blood-soaked main event , the middleweight title fight between champion James Webb and challenger Nathias Frederick had its fair share of rarities. After a warning following a similar sequence earlier in the fight, Frederick (7-2-1 MMA) was deducted a point for a pro wrestling-style piledriver delivered to a vulnerable Webb (6-1-1 MMA).
