Decorated submission grappler Roger Gracie (6-2) plans to move from the U.K. to the U.S. to train full-time at Blackhouse MMA in Southern California. Gracie’s manager, Ed Soares, who also runs the Blackhouse gym, said the switch will help the fighter better prepare for his bouts. “I think he just needs more time to prepare for fights,” Soares today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “In his last few fights, he hasn’t been able to get a full training camp here.” Blackhouse MMA is located in Gardena, Calif., and also hosts top fighters Lyoto Machida , Glover Teixeira , Pedro Rizzo , and ex-champ Anderson Silva , who trains there when not in his native Brazil

With a successful promotional debut at Saturday’s UFC 163 event in her native Brazil, Amanda Nunes said her sights are set solely on a title fight. But before she gets there, she’s opening to settling some unfinished business. In an FX-televised preliminary-card bout at Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena, Nunes (8-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) needed a little more than two minutes to fight off a rear-naked-choke attempt and score a TKO victory over Sheila Gaff (10-6-1 MMA, 0-2 UFC). Nunes said everything surprisingly went to plan. “I think (with) Sheila’s game, I think everyone who watched Sheila fight knows she’s very aggressive,” Nunes said after the bout. “But today was different. Along the way, he answers as many reporters’ questions as possible, smiles for camera click after camera click and signs a few dozen autographs. Thursday’s swirl of activity follows a three-hour engagement in which Aldo participated in a news conference, put on a public workout session that featured a soundtrack by a live rock band and then waded through a sea of fans and reporters to answer even more questions as microphones, cameras and recorders were shoved in his face. It was time for Aldo to retreat to his hotel, but his removal from the scene was anything but easy. “You get more experienced with fighting, and you get more experienced with everything else that goes with it, too,” Aldo told USA TODAY Sports and MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) through a translator. “I’m OK with it. Paul Daley, Maiquel Falcao released by Bellator MMA

Paul Daley and Maiquel Falcao are no longer under contract with Bellator. Today, the promotion suddenly announced a decision to release the welterweight and middleweight fighters, who’ve both landed in trouble with the law after reported assaults. Bellator rep Anthony Mazzuca told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the promotion will not retain matching rights and the fighters are free to compete for any other promotion. “We examine each situation on a case-by-case basis, and in these two instances, the violent nature of both situations has led to our decision to release both fighters from the organization,” he said. Mazzuca cited Falcao’s involvement in a brawl in his native Brazil and Daley’s conviction on a charge of assaulting and obstructing a police officer, which contradicts public statements given by the fighter about the incident this past December in the United Kingdom. Daley manager Wad Alameddine said he received word earlier today that Daley had been cut, but was unable to reach his client. “I’m definitely disappointed,” he said. In June, Daley told Bleacher Report that the case had been thrown out for “lack of evidence and contradicting witness accounts.” Alameddine, however, confirmed that the welterweight had, in fact, been convicted of assault and fined for the charge

While he’s usually fairly tightlipped with the U.S. media, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is more likely to open up in his native Brazil. Check out the video above as Silva (33-5 MMA, 16-1 UFC) discusses his UFC 162 title loss to Chris Weidman (10-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) and the conspiracy cries that he threw the July 6 fight. Silva, in Portuguese, said he was embarrassed that the allegations might make his home country look bad. The segment was part of Saturday’s edition of the “Legendários” talk show.

The reason, he said, is simple: He doesn’t trust judges, so that forces him to take gambles where other won’t. “I do think it’s necessary to take chances when attempting to win,” he told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “Look at my fights. I may win or lose, but I almost never go to decision. I only have one decision on my record, an old bout in Brazil. If one doesn’t take risks, the decision is left to the judges, and that’s why it’s necessary to go for broke.” However, this isn’t a new sentiment, despite MMA judging’s recent woes. Oliveira said it’s something he learned early in his career, when he was still cutting his teeth on the regional circuit in his native Brazil.

UFC on FUEL TV 10′s Antonio Braga Neto: Smith will ‘have to kill me’ to win

Antonio Braga Neto has a few things working in his favor for his UFC debut today. Neto (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) meets Anthony Smith (17-9 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to open up the card at UFC on FUEL TV 10. And yeah, maybe he’s thinking a little about a home-cage advantage in his native Brazil, and maybe he’s thinking about his family being there to see his first UFC fight and maybe he’s thinking about his jiu-jitsu accolades and where that might factor in the fight. But more than anything, he’s kind of thinking about death – because that, he said, is what it will take for Smith to upset him. UFC on FUEL TV 10 takes place at Paulo Sarasate Arena in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil.
