Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer informed MMAWeekly.com that all 22 fighters that fought on the July 6 fight card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas were tested, and all returned negative test results. Chris Weidman became the new UFC middleweight champion in the main event of the fight card by knocking out long-time titleholder Anderson Silva early in the second round.

Every fighter on the card submitted pre-fight urine samples.  Four randomly chosen fighters submitted post-fight urine samples, as well as main event fighters Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum . Werdum defeated Nogueira in the featured attraction by submission. Leonardo Santos became the second The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil winner by submitting William Macario in the co-main event. The card set the record for number of submission finishes on a single UFC event with eight.  The previous record was six.
