Alexandre Pantoja gave Neil Seery the battle he was looking for in what he declared would be the final fight of his career. Unfortunately for Seery (16-13 MMA, 3-4 UFC), it proved to be more than he could handle, as Pantoja (18-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) hammered Seery on the feet before taking him down in the final round to finish with a rear-naked choke that forced the tap at the 2:31 mark of Round 3. The flyweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 113 event at SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland

On Sunday, McCall (13-5-1 MMA, 2-3-1 UFC) had flyweight opponent Neil Seery (16-12 MMA, 3-3 UFC) drop out after the death of Seery’s mother-in-law . But McCall will remain on the card, which is less than two weeks away, to take on promotional newcomer Jarred Brooks (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC). UFC officials announced the new booking today

Seery announced the withdrawal via Facebook , citing the passing of his mother-in-law as his reason for pulling out of the event. A UFC official subsequently confirmed the news with MMAjunkie. “I pulled out of my fight in 2 weeks due to losing my mother in law today sorry to everyone who bought tickets but family comes first,” Seery wrote. McCall (13-5-1 MMA, 2-3-1 UFC) and Seery (16-12 MMA, 3-3 UFC) were already set to fight at UFC Fight Night 99 in November, but the fight fell apart on weigh-in day when “Uncle Creepy” was hospitalized with illness
