Gastelum (9-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) got beat up a little in the first round, but then rallied to win the next two rounds fairly dominantly to get a unanimous decision victory over Nicholas Musoke (12-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC). Check out the highlights above from the fight, which aired on FOX Sports 1 from AT&T Center in San Antonio.

UFC Fight Night 44 results: Kelvin Gastelum comes on strong to top Nicholas Musoke

SAN ANTONIO – After getting off to a rough start in the opening round, Kelvin Gastelum (9-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) rallied to win the next two rounds in order to edge out a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) over Nicholas Musoke (12-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC), thanks largely to his aggression on the feet and non-stop pressure in a bloody, fast-paced fight. The catchweight bout (Gastelum came in overweight) was the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 44 event at AT&T Center in San Antonio. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelim on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Until a few years ago, Sweden wasn’t known for producing top MMA fighters. No one doubts that now, though. “What he has done has really paved the way for the rest of us coming out of Sweden,” Musoke said of Gustafsson, the UFC’s top light-heavyweight contender. “He beat guys consecutively before getting the title shot, a fight that I, among others, thought he won. But that’s all in the past.

You’ve got to wonder what was going through the mind of the fan in Jaragua do Sul who stole Lyoto Machida ’s hat as the fighter made his walk to the cage early Sunday morning at UFC Fight Night 36. It’s a jerk move to begin with, but one also rooted in some sort of weird, jerkish tradition. If you wanted to make the argument that MMA fans are crass, inconsiderate people, the hat-stealing thing would be a pretty decent place to start. Who does that?

In a main-card bout at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 36 event, Andrade (17-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) celebrated a bit too soon, and after being gifted the unexpected recovery time, Musoke (12-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) stormed back for a decision win.
