After a lengthy run in the UFC, Erick Silva is ready to embark on the next step in his MMA career. Silva (19-9) tonight headlines LFA 45 against Nick Barnes (12-3) at Morongo Casino Outdoor Pavilion in Cabazon, Calif. The main card airs on AXS TV. Silva made his UFC debut in 2011 but despite three “Fight of the Night” bonuses for fun fights with Matt Brown, Jon Fitch and Luan Chagas, he never was able to capture consistent momentum and went 7-8 with the promotion over a span of more than six years. Barnes headlines his third consecutive LFA event. This past August, Barnes earned a split-decision win over Chad Curry

After a 15-fight run in the UFC, Brazilian welterweight Erick Silva now headlines LFA 45. Promotion officials today announced that Silva (19-9) will face Nick Barnes (12-3) in the featured bout of the card, which takes place July 20 at Morongo Casino Outdoor Pavilion in Cabazon, Calif. The night’s main card airs on AXS TV. “I am excited to bring LFA back to Coachella Valley at LFA 45,” LFA CEO Ed Soares stated. “This will be our fourth show in my home state of California.

AXS TV renews deals for LFA, CES MMA events in 2018; LFA 30 set for January

LFA and CES MMA will continue on AXS TV in 2018, the cable network announced Thursday. In addition, AXS TV Fights’ 2018 campaign will kick off Jan. 12 with LFA 30. That event, according to a release from AXS TV, makes the promotion the fastest in MMA history to reach 30 events. LFA started in January of this year following the merger of Legacy FC and RFA.

Barnes (12-2) appeared to have handled Curry (9-2) without much concern for what the judges would say, even after he took a year off. But in the end, one of them saw the fight for Curry.
