Over the past couple of years, fans have been concerned for Nick Diaz ‘s wellbeing outside of the cage. The older Diaz brother has had an impressive career in the sport, managing to capture Strikeforce gold and being recognized as one of the biggest names in MMA during his heights. After dealing with suspension and various other issues, the now-41-year-old stumbled upon some problems in his personal life. Many feared the worst, expecting Nick Diaz to go down an un-salvageable path , but that may not be the case. Hoping to get back into the octagon, Diaz seems to be on the mend .

Nick Diaz provides positive update after drug abuse allegations

After a moment of worry and uncertainty, good news has finally surfaced surrounding Nick Diaz ‘s personal life. The older Diaz brother was scheduled to return to the octagon for the first time in three years. His comeback was to take place against Vicente Luque , but a worrying report spread online linking the 41-year-old to an alleged stint of drug abuse . The fight against Luque was scrapped shortly after a video was released showing what seemed to be a troubled Nick Diaz lighting a fire close to a local YMCA in his hometown; the same building in which the police were alerted to an alarm fire shortly after. Diaz was detained by authorities before later being released without any charges. Two months after that night, Nick Diaz has provided somewhat of a positive update on his life. Sharing a story on Instagram, Diaz looked in a much better place mentally

UFC 310′s Vicente Luque puts Nick Diaz in the past after two scrapped bouts

LAS VEGAS – Vicente Luque is done with pursuing a possible fight with Nick Diaz . Luque (22-10-1 MMA, 15-6 UFC) was initially scheduled to fight Diaz at UFC on ABC 7 August in Abu Dhabi, but the bout was scrapped after Diaz pulled out due to travel issues. The pair were rebooked for Saturday’s UFC 310 (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN2, Hulu, ESPN+ ) event at T-Mobile Arena, but Diaz withdrew once again. Now, Luque faces rising welterweight contender Themba Gorimbo (14-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) instead.

Nick Diaz ‘s apparent bizarre behavior has caught the attention of his girlfriend who is incredibly concerned for the MMA legend. The Stockton native is a true fan-favorite for the older generation of followers and rightly so. Though he never held UFC gold, the now-41-year-old did manage to capture both the WEC and Strikeforce welterweight titles during his rise in the sport. Now, things look to have taken a turn for the worse for Nick Diaz. The UFC star is being considered a suspect after police were alerted to an alarm fire at a local YMCA in his hometown. Diaz was later detained for questioning as a video surfaced of him lighting a fire outside of the building in question

It’s been a minute since Nick Diaz had a fight, and fighters’ preparation methods always are evolving. There’s no way to be sure that’s what’s going on here, but hell – it’s Nick Diaz. Can anyone ever be sure if there’s method to the proverbial madness? A month out from his first fight in more than three years, and just his third in the past decade, a shirtless man who appears to be Diaz can be seen on a video on social media (H/T ParryPunch ) attempting to light a piece of grass in some landscaping in front of a business. A woman calls out to “Nick” on the video and asks if he’s OK, and he twice answers he is. We’ll let you make up your own mind if he’s right about that.

Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) returns against Luque (22-10-1 MMA, 15-6 UFC) in a welterweight bout at UFC 310 on Dec. 7 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas ( ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN2, ESPN+). Diaz hasn’t competed since a TKO loss to Robbie Lawler in September 2021 , when he looked out of shape in what was his first fight in more than six years. Diaz’s team later revealed he was dealing with a neck injury , which hampered his training camp. “The thing about Nick Diaz, for me: I want the guy from the pictures, I’m going to just say it,” Cormier said on “Good Guy/Bad Guy” with Chael Sonnen
