Paul Daley Leaves No Doubt, He Wants to Fight in the UFC, but Would Dana White Have Him Back?

Paul Daley was recently cut loose by Bellator MMA due to ongoing legal issues, and is free to fight for whomever wants him. Having fought for the UFC in the past and currently on a four-fight winning streak, would he ever be welcomed back to fight in the Octagon? It doesn’t appear so. When told that Daley has mentioned that he would like to come back to the UFC, company president Dana White seemed somewhat surprised and not too thrilled with the idea. “He wants to come back now? I thought he hated this place,” White said in his UFC on Fox 8 post-fight scrum with reporters. “I don’t think so.” Whether White thinks it’s a good idea or not, Daley made it clear that he would welcome the opportunity

Georges St-Pierre Doesn’t Want to Fight Anderson Silva, “That’s a Fact,” Says Dana White

Talk of a superfight between UFC welterweight titleholder Georges St-Pierre and middleweight champion Anderson Silva has swirled for years, but according to UFC president Dana White , St-Pierre doesn’t want the fight. “Georges St-Pierre would not even think about this fight because Anderson Silva isn’t going to win (against Chris Weidman ), according to Georges St-Pierre,” said White following the UFC 162 pre-fight press conference on Thursday. But there’s more to the story. When asked if he sensed St-Pierre doesn’t want the fight, White said, “There’s no doubt about it. That’s a fact.” “St-Pierre had his chance to pronounce himself about fighting me and he didn’t do it,” said Silva on a recent media conference call. White doesn’t hold it against St-Pierre for not wanting to go up a weight class to challenge Silva. “At the end of the day he weighs 170 pounds. He’s a 170-pounder. If he weighed 185 pounds and felt that way I’d be real pissed,” said White. “I’m the man here at 170. If I thought I was the man at 185 I’d be at 185. I get it, but it’s a fight that a lot of fans want to see. It’s a big fight. It’s a legacy fight. It’s a fight for the pound-for-pound best in the world.” While White gets it, he still doesn’t completely understand St-Pierre’s unwillingness to fight Silva. “What’s crazy to me is GSP opted to take a very dangerous fight at 170 without trying to take a dangerous fight at 185,” he said. St-Pierre instead faces Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 on Nov.

LAS VEGAS – Dana White has said it before, and he no doubt will say it again: He’s over New York. He told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) as much on Monday in Las Vegas: “I don’t care anymore. I’m over it,” the UFC president said. “It,” of course, is the potential for New York, the country’s last holdout, to finally sanction and legislate MMA.

But the UFC boss at least seems to get behind his athletes appearing on the big screen when it doesn’t get in the way of their fighting careers. The latest handful of UFC fighters to find their way to a movie include middleweight champion Anderson Silva and former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida . “Tapped” is scheduled for a release later this year, and a new trailer for the film is available.

FORTALEZA, Brazil – After downing four different opponents, there is no doubt that William Macario (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) deserves to be in the finals of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2.” But does Leonardo Santos (11-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC)? “Patolino” says there is no doubt. “I definitely think so,” Macario told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) through an interpreter. “I think he definitely deserves to be on the finale because he had a great fight with Santiago Ponzinibbio . It was a fight that could have been for either one of them.” That fight took place in the semifinal round of “TUF: Brazil 2,” with Ponzinibbio earning a hard-fought unanimous decision. However, he injured his hand in the contest and was unable to recover in time for the tournament final, which takes place Saturday at UFC on FUEL TV 10 at Paulo Sarasate Arena in Fortaleza, Brazil. That allowed Santos to step back in the tournament as a replacement finalist, and he now meets Macario in the final round. Meanwhile, Macario earned three stoppage wins during his four “TUF: Brazil” victories
