ONE Championship officials are feeling pretty confident heading into this weekend’s massive “Century” event. Never one to shy away from a bold claim, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong today said he’s estimating 70 million viewers worldwide will tune in for this weekend’s “ONE Championship 100: Century” event, which features two full cards from Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan that air on TNT and stream on B/R Live late Saturday night and early Sunday morning in the U.S. “This is a historic moment, not only for Japan, but for the entire world of martial arts,” Sityodtong said at a kick-off press conference today in Japan.

Angela Lee hopes to bring ONE Championship to Hawaii, but there’s a catch

Angela Lee has a vision of bringing ONE Championship Stateside, but not to the mainland. She wants the promotion to host an event in Hawaii. Lee (9-2), who was born in Canada but relocated to Hawaii during her childhood, has seen the success of MMA in Hawaii, particularly when Bellator hosted back-to-back cards there in December. She’s long been pushing for ONE Championship to go there, and said she thinks it’s close to happening.

ONE Championship 100 announced; three title fights coming to Tokyo

ONE Championship’s 100th event is starting to take shape. Three title bouts have been announced for the October 13 event in Tokyo aptly titled “Century.” In the first of three announced championship bouts, ONE atomweight championship champion Angela Lee (9-1 MMA) will meet Chinese challenger Xiong Jingnan (14-1 MMA).
