ONE Championship returned to action this past weekend, and a little-known Brazilian featherweight picked up a big win for his career. Fabricio Andrade (4-2) made his promotional debut in spectacular fashion, earning a second-round technical submission win over longtime veteran Mark Abelardo (19-8). The bout served as the first MMA contest of Friday’s ONE Championship 110 event in Thailand. Afterward, Andrade said he wasn’t nearly as surprised as others might be. “I feel like I did my job,” Andrade said after the win. “I feel like I did what I came to do, and I finished my job.” Fighting for the first time in 14 months and the first time ever in the ONE Championship ring, Andrade certainly was a bit of a mystery

ONE Championship returned to action this past weekend for the first time since February, and while the card was heavy on muay Thai action, “Wonder Boy” did take advantage of his time in the ring. Not that one – the Brazilian one. In the first MMA bout of Friday’s ONE Championship 110 event in Thailand, Brazilian Fabricio Andrade (4-2) scored a technical submission win over the much more experienced Mark Abelardo (19-8). With the result, “Wonder Boy” now owns a three-fight winning streak. Meanwhile, in the night’s featured MMA contest, undefeated prospect Stamp Fairtex (5-0) scored a dominant victory over the previously unbeaten Sunisa Srisan (3-1).

ONE Championship ready to bounce back with ‘No Surrender’ on July 31

After a lengthy spell in lockdown, Asian MMA promotion ONE Championship is ready to bounce back with its first big arena event following the coronavirus outbreak. A post to their official LinkedIn page featured a graphic that simply stated, “We’re back!” accompanied by the date of July 31 and the event’s location, Bangkok, Thailand. The event will end a five-month hiatus from live main-roster events, and follows a pair of ONE Hero Series shows that took place in Shanghai, China on June 20 and 21. Following the announcement on LinkedIn, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong posted a message on Twitter revealing the name of the event will be “ONE Championship: No Surrender.” https://twitter.com/yodchatri/status/1276503981892739072 BREAKING NEWS: ONE Championship is BACK! After a successful ONE Hero Series 13 and 14 in China last weekend, ONE Championship will now kick off our flagship event schedule with ONE: No Surrender on July 31 in Thailand! Coronavirus fears prompt ONE Championship 110 in Vietnam to be postponed

ONE Championship’s next big event has been pushed back because of the ongoing coronavirus crisis in Asia. ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong confirmed that the promotion’s scheduled event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, “ONE Championship 110: Heart of Heroes,” has been postponed. “After discussing all options with the Vietnam Government, my team and I have decided to postpone ONE: Heart of Heroes on March 20 in Ho Chi Minh City,” Sityodtong said Friday in a Facebook post. “The event will now take place on June 26, assuming the coronavirus situation eases. Bar none, the safety of our fans, athletes, staff, partners, and public are the highest priority for ONE Championship.
