Ben Askren ONE Championship welterweight champion Ben Askren expects Luis Santos his “toughest” opponent to date, but he’s not necessarily concerned about the upcoming challenge. With more than 70 pro fights on his record, Santos has competed across the globe since his 2000 debut. He’s crafted 35 knockout wins, locked up more than a dozen submissions, and could put the first blemish on Askren’s undefeated record. The champ doesn’t see it that way, though. He said Santos’ body of work deserves respect, but “Funky” is confident the Brazilian has never crossed paths with anyone quite like him. “(Santos is) probably the toughest guy I’ve faced,” Askren told MMAjunkie.
