Mei Yamaguchi at ONE Championship 42 Teen sensation Angela Lee (6-0) become one of the youngest fighters to win a championship in a major promotion when at 19 she captured the inaugural ONE Championship atomweight title with a thrilling unanimous decision over veteran Mei Yamaguchi (15-9-1). Lee has said she wants to become the face of women’s MMA in Asia and in her sixth pro fight took a massive step toward that accomplishing that goal by going for broke against Yamaguchi.

Angela Lee An injury to middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash has caused a shuffle at the top of next month’s ONE Championship 42 card in Singapore, but the event still will have a pair of title fights. Bigdash (8-0) has suffered an injury, the promotion today announced, and is out of the main event against challenger Aleksei Butorin (10-0). The original co-headliner between Angela Lee (5-0) and Mei Yamaguchi (15-8-1) now will serve as the main event to crown the inaugural ONE Championship women’s atomweight titleholder. The new co-main event between Roger Gracie (7-2) and Michal Pasternak (11-0) now will be for the promotion’s inaugural light heavyweight title

‘ONE Championship 42: Kingdom of Champions’ set for May 27 in Thailand

Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke ONE Championship will hold “the biggest and first-ever sports entertainment show in Thailand” on May 27 when the promotion holds ‘ONE Championship 42: Kingdom of Champions’ at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. The promotion aounced the event via a press release.
