At ONE Championship 54, new lightweight champion Eduard Folayang (18-5) defended his title for the first time with a competitive unanimous decision win over Ev Ting (13-4) in the main event. ONE Championship 54 took place at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, and streamed via online pay-per-view. Check out the highlights of their main-event title fight above. ONE Championship 54′s Eduard Folayang not expecting rematch with Shinya Aoki any time soon

Eduard Folayang is one of just three fighters in ONE Championship history to hold the organization’s lightweight title. He plans to make this reign all his own. Prior to Folayang’s title-winning victory at ONE Championship 49 in November, it was Shinya Aoki (39-7) who ruled atop the division for nearly four years. Aoki has long been regarded as one of the top fighters at his weight class, but Folayang (17-5) knocked him off his throne with a third-round TKO victory . Folayang hopes to achieve a run as champion, which supersedes Aoki, and he will get his first chance to prove his divisional dominance on Friday when he faces Ev Ting (13-3) in the ONE Championship 54 headliner at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. The card streams via online pay-per-view.

The lightweight title will be up for grabs at “ONE Championship 54: Kings of Destiny.” Officials today announced champ Eduard Folayang (17-5) will look for his first title defense when he meets challenger Ev Ting (13-3) at the event. ONE Championship 54 takes place April 21 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, and it streams as an online pay-per-view in North America. Folayang, a 32-year-old Filipino fighter, won the belt with a TKO victory over notable vet Shinya Aoki in November. It marked his third straight win – over Aoki, Adrian Pang and Tetsuya Yamada – and his fifth victory in his past six fights.
