ONE Championship titleholder Angela Lee retired somewhat unexpectedly Friday at ONE Fight Night 14. The decision comes on the heels of a tell-all story with The Players’ Tribune in which Lee detailed a 2017 suicide attempt and revealed her 18-year-old sister Victoria Lee died by suicide in 2022 . Lee, 27, vacated the promotion’s 115-pound championship upon her announcement, which came right before a scheduled interim title fight between Stamp Fairtex and Seo Hee Ham. Blake Cooper, brother of Ray Cooper III set for September ONE Championship debut

The younger brother of former PFL champion Ray Cooper III is set to make his debut under the ONE Championship banner. In his first fight with the promotion, Hawaii’s Blake Cooper (2-0 MMA, 0-0 ONE) will face Switzerland’s Maurice Abevi (6-1 MMA, 0-1 ONE). The lightweight bout takes place at ONE Fight Night 14 on Friday, Sept. 29, at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, and airs live on Amazon Prime Video. ONE Fight Night 14 will see three titles on the line, and they’re all women’s bouts across multiple combat sports disciplines. Two years after ONE Championship hosted an all-women’s event, the promotion will feature multiple women’s titles at the top of another event. The ONE Fight Night 14 was originally set to take place on Sept. 1, but has been shifted four weeks later to Sept. 29 at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, and will air live on Amazon Prime Video. The promotion communicated the news to MMA Junkie on Tuesday.
