Oscar De La Hoya thinks there was something fishy going on for last week’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match. Although there’s no real proof, many online have questioned the validity of Paul’s unanimous decision win over Tyson last Friday at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium. De La Hoya, a former boxing world champion and now promoter, is also on that boat, as he recently accused Paul of staging the fight with Tyson – which would be illegal. “Everyone is talking about how staged this fight was, and I do believe it was scripted, and I believe that Tyson was certainly held back,” De La Hoya said on Instagram. “Look, I’m a fighter, and I can see it.

Two of Oscar De La Hoya ’s most bitter enemies will be hosting events on Mexican Independence weekend, and he’s already made his pick as to which one he’ll attend. De La Hoya, a retired boxing legend and now promoter, has had long public feuds with boxing champion Canelo Alavrez and UFC CEO Dana White . Alvarez will be defending his WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga at the T-Mobile Arena, while White will be putting on UFC 306 at the Sphere – both events going down in Las Vegas on Sep. 14. With both events going head-to-head, De La Hoya has chosen to go out of his sport and attend UFC 306 over Alvarez’s title defense. “We’re a week away from the boxing match that nobody asked for, and the UFC event that everyone will be watching,” De La Hoya said on his Instagram

Alvarez, the undisputed super middleweight champion, put his four world championships on the line against Jaime Munguia at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday. During the press conference, Alvarez and his old promoter Oscar De La Hoya had a heated exchange after De La Hoya said Golden Boy Promotions made Alvarez, among other things. Security was brought in as a precaution but the exchange stayed only verbal.
