The premier drew 432,000 viewers while the second episode improved to 545,000 viewers. After a week off, the reality series returned with its third episode on Wednesday with 676,000 viewers. Fight Master: Bellator MMA is similar to its Spike TV predecessor, The Ultimate Fighter , but has a slightly different twist to how the teams are divvied up. Much like the singing competition The Voice the participants select their teams instead of being chosen by the coaches. The show started with 32 welterweight athletes that pair off, trying to fight their way onto the show. The winners of the fights gain the opportunity to select from one of four coaches

TUF Nations Adds Middleweights to Already Announced Welterweight Casting Call

Initially announcing a casting call for welterweight fighters, the next international version of The Ultimate Fighter will now be calling for both welterweight and middleweight participants. UFC Canadian officials recently confirmed the addition of middleweights to the mix after it was announced during Thursday’s Sportsnet360 launch in Canada. The UFC recently added Canada to next international version of its venerable reality series, announcing TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia . Although there are currently few details about the show, TUF Nations features UFC veterans Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke coaching teams of Canadian and Australian fighters, respectively. Tryouts for TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia will begin in September. Both countries will host casting opportunities, the first in Sydney and the second in Toronto

Bellator ’s new reality series, Fight Master: Bellator MMA , opened to less than stellar TV ratings in its first week, but saw a marked increase for its second episode. While the premiere drew 432,000 viewers, Wednesday night’s Episode 2 improved to 545,000 viewers. That is a 26-percent increase week over week. Fight Master’s season premiere was up against the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals, so some of the increase in viewership could stem from the hockey final having finished up a few days ago. Fight Master: Bellator MMA is similar to its Spike TV predecessor, The Ultimate Fighter , but has a slightly different twist to how the teams are divvied up. Three ONE FC Super Fights Set For Malaysian Invasion Grand Finale on June 15 in Kuala Lumpur

Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) has joined forced with ONE FC for a card in Kuala Lumpur on June 15. It will feature three professional fights as well as seven amateur bouts, which will crown Malaysian national champions for the first time. MIMMA is organized by Tune Talk, a telecommunications company that also sponsors ONE FC. It is open to all fighters of Malaysian nationality with a total of RM 150,000 (48,000 USD) worth of cash prizes on offer to the winners. A field of over 300 participants was narrowed down to 112 fighters spread across seven weight categories after an open trial. A panel of experts selected the most qualified candidates for MIMMA, who then competed in an elimination style tournament with fights conducted under amateur rules. Footage of the fights, which have been taking place at a major shopping center in Kuala Lumpur, has been broadcast every week on Star Sports. For the finals, MIMMA is moving to the 11,000-capacity Stadium Negara and there will be three ONE FC fights on the card.
