It took place Sunday at UFC Fight Night 59, where McGregor was victorious in the headliner and Holohan (11-1-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) cruised to a decision victory over fellow flyweight Shane Howell (13-9 MMA, 0-2 UFC) in preliminary-card action. Lamas, a featherweight contender who played the role of “The Delirious” Conrad McGillicutty in a parody video of McGregor prior to the event, was in Boston for the show, and he and Holohan eventually crossed paths. In addition to headliner Conor McGregor, January’s UFC Fight Night 59 event in Boston is going to have some additional Irish representation. Irish flyweight Patrick Holohan (10-1-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) will meet Shane Howell (13-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at the event, UFC officials today announced.

HALIFAX – Rory MacDonald , Olivier Aubin-Mercier , Chad Kelades and Patrick Holohan each earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 54 event. Kelades and Holohan earned “Fight of the Night” honors, while MacDonald and Aubin-Mercier each won “Performance of the Night” bonuses. UFC officials announced the winners at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended. UFC Fight Night 54 took place at Halifax Metro Centre in Nova Scotia, Canada. HALIFAX – With less than a week’s notice, Chris Kelades had the odds stacked against him despite fighting in his home province. But Kelades (8-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) bucked those odds with a spirited effort to upset Patrick Holohan (10-1-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC), handing the Irishman his first loss with a unanimous decision. The flyweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 54 event at Halifax Metro Centre in Nova Scotia, Canada. It aired on FOX Sports 2 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1. Holohan kicked high early, then kicked down low. Holohan stayed ultra-busy moving on the outside, giving Kelades nothing stationary to aim for.

Louis Gaudinot is a late scratch from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 54 lineup, and the promotion is now seeking a replacement for the upcoming card. Gaudinot(6-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) was slated to fight flyweight Patrick Holohan (10-0-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at the event. Sources close to the fighters confirmed the change with MMAjunkie. The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because the UFC hasn’t made a formal announcement. A reason wasn’t given for Gaudinot’s withdrawal.
