After some initial concerns about being able to finalize a fall event in Manchester, England, U.K. fans can rest easy. UFC officials finally have gone public with a “Fight Night” event for the England city for October. The promotion on Tuesday announced a new booking for the card between Melvin Guillard and England native Ross Pearson . Pending the announcement of a rumored “Fight Night” card for Brazil earlier in the month, the Manchester card could become UFC Fight Night 30. Regardless of the numbering sequence, the event will take place Oct.

Fresh off of a victory at the recent UFC on Fox 8 in Seattle, Melvin Guillard has agreed to step into the UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Munoz co-main event to square off with Ross Pearson . The bout was announced on UFC Tonight on Tuesday night. UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Munoz will be the first live UFC event on Fox Sports 2, which is a re-branding of Fuel TV that launches alongside Fox Sports 1 on Aug.

A lightweight matchup and potential slugfest has been added to the UFC’s return to England. UFC officials announced on Tuesday’s new edition of “UFC Tonight” that Melvin Guillard (31-12-2 MMA, 12-8 UFC) and Ross Pearson (15-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC) will meet at an Oct. 26 UFC Fight Night event scheduled for Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. The contest serves as the co-main event of a card that sees Michael Bisping face Mark Munoz in the main event. The main card airs on FOX Sports 2 followig prelims that stream on Facebook. Guillard looks to build on the strength of a “Knockout of the Night” win over Mac Danzig at July’s UFC on FOX 8 event. The much-needed result helped Guillard snap out of a 1-4 slump and once again showed the potential the 30-year-old slugger always packs in his back pocket

Quinn Mulhern Drops to Lightweight to Face Ryan Couture at UFC 164

Ryan Couture and Quinn Mulhern , two former Strikeforce fighters, are set to square off in a lightweight bout at UFC 164 on Aug. 31 in Milwaukee. UFC officials announced the new bout on Tuesday. Couture and Mulhern is each making his sophomore appearance for the promotion, and each lost his UFC debut. Couture (6-2) was on a four-fight streak entering the Octagon, but couldn’t keep the momentum going when he faced Ross Pearson at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Sweden. Pearson took the fight to Couture, defeating him by TKO stoppage late in the second round. Mulhern (18-5) suffered a TKO loss to Rick Story in his Octagon debut at UFC 158. That bout, like the majority of Mulhern’s past bouts, was at welterweight
