Who’ll fight on the UFC event at the White House in June has been debated and predicted since President Donald Trump made the announcement that the White House South Lawn would host a UFC event for the American 250 celebration. Several high-profile fighters lobbied to be part of the historic fight card, including household names Jon Jones and Conor McGregor . While they’re both legends and McGregor’s the biggest draw in the promotion’s history, former title challenger and industry inside Chael Sonnen doesn’t think it makes sense to feature either of them at the White House event

UFC’s Brian Stann added to FOX Sports South’s ACC football crew

UFC middleweight Brian Stann has been spending plenty of time in television studios lately, and his on-camera work will continue this fall – just not breaking down fights. Stann will be part of the FOX Sports South football broadcast team covering the Atlantic Coast Conference. Stann will join play-by-play voice Wes Durham and Emmy Award-winner Jenn Hildreth. FOX Sports South made the announcement on Wednesday. “FOX Sports South is very excited to welcome Wes Durham and Brian Stann to our newly-expanded ACC football package,” Jeff Genthner, Senior Vice President and General Manager of FOX Sports South, stated. “Wes is nationally recognized as one of the great football play-by-play announcers at both the college and pro level, while Brian brings a dynamic and energetic perspective to the booth.

Bellator Summer Series and Fight Master Open to Disappointing TV Ratings

Bellator and Spike TV launched the new reality series Fight Master: Bellator MMA on Wednesday night with the Bellator 96 live event serving as lead-in programming. The TV ratings for the night could only be characterized as disappointing in comparison to Bellator’s strong Season 8 showing on Spike TV. Bellator 96 drew an audience of 480,000 viewers for its two hours of live fights, while the one-hour Fight Master premiere averaged 432,000 viewers, according to Spike TV officials. To put that in perspective, Bellator 96’s audience was slightly more than half the average viewership for the promotion’s first season on Spike TV. Bellator Season 8’s live events averaged slightly less than 800,000 viewers per show. Fight Master ’s 432,000 viewers on Spike was well below the final season of its counterpart’s run on the network. The Ultimate Fighter wrapped its run on Spike averaging 1.5 million viewers per episode. Bellator 96 and Fight Master did have significant hurdles to overcome
