The story of UFC middleweight Tamdan McCrory ’s first fight is, oddly enough, probably best told from the perspective of Kevin Seaman, who didn’t see it. Seaman is “The Barn Cat’s” longtime coach, a man who didn’t think much of McCrory (14-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) when he first met him. “He was very immature,” Seaman told MMAjunkie. “We didn’t hit it off real well at first. He was a kid, you know?” He was 19 the night Seaman took him up to Massachusetts for that first fight. Legacy FC 23 took place on Friday night at the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio with two UFC vets getting back on the horse, while another called it quits after a disappointing loss. Pete Spratt started strong against Tim Means , showing good head movement and taking the fight to his younger opponent, but he just couldn’t find an opening in time. Means, however, did.

A pair of UFC veterans will headline Legacy Fighting Championship’s September return to San Antonio. In the main event of Legacy FC 23, Pete Spratt (25-22) meets Danny Salinas (11-5) in a welterweight bout, and in the co-feature, featherweight Leonard Garcia (15-11-1) takes on Nick Gonzalez (18-11). Promotion officials recently announced the fight card. Legacy FC 23 takes place Sept. 13 at Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio.
