Most mixed martial arts action is on hiatus during the coronavirus pandemic, but the PFL is doing its best to fill the void. “Inside the Knockout” is a weekly show that tells the story of the best knockouts from the 2018 and 2019 PFL seasons with new camera angles and broadcast audio. The series’ latest episode – which streams live Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET on the promotion’s YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram channels – will feature welterweight Sadibou Sy and his 17-second knockout of David Michaud . New episodes of “Inside the Knockout” will air every Wednesday. You can watch the tease to Sy’s episode in the video above

It’s been two-and-a-half years, but Glaico Franca still remembers the details of the day when he found out he was no longer a UFC fighter. The exact date was Oct. 26, 2016. He remembers, because it was about a month after his UFC Fight Night 95 meeting with Gregor Gillespie.

After all, despite what was then a 0-0 pro MMA record, it is not every day that you get a two-time Olympic judo champion in your roster. Four professional fights and four wins later, though, just how valuable of a fighter does PFL have on their hands with Harrison?

Harrison (4-0), the two-time Olympic judo gold medalist, remained unbeaten in her MMA career with another dominant performance against UFC veteran Larissa Pacheco (11-3) in her first fight of the season, which took place at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., and aired on ESPN2. Because she went the distance, though, the win earned Harrison just three points in the standings.

Sarah Kaufman shines in lightweight debut with submission at PFL 2019, Week 1

Sarah Kaufman ’s lightweight debut went about as smoothly as possible Thursday when she dominated her first fight of the PFL season. Kaufman (21-4) earned six points in the women’s lightweight standings when she submitted Morgan Frier (4-1) with an arm-triangle choke in the opening round at PFL 2019, Week 1. The former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champ moved up to 155 pounds for the first time and was able to use her experience to take down the larger Frier before advancing into position to finish the fight. Check out the highlight below (via Twitter ): Kaufman has struggled to find fights since she parted ways with the UFC in December 2015. She captured the Invicta FC bantamweight title in the meantime, but said joining PFL was a “crazy opportunity” she wanted to take advantage of.

Svetlana Khautova (2-0) is out of the headliner against Kayla Harrison (3-0), a two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo, as part of the women’s lightweight regular season. Stepping in for Khautova is Larissa Pacheco (11-2), who moves up from the prelims and a fight against Roberta Samad . Samad (4-1) now takes on Moriel Charneski (3-5), also part of the women’s lightweight regular season
